Success Chess School is excited to announce our virtual summer chess camps for intermediate and advanced level players! Each week will have a different focus - from the study of the greatest games of history, to optimizing your tournament skills, to exploring the world of tactics - every camp will be unique.

Students will engage in active discussion during each day, under the guidance and direction of our best coaches. Students will compete in in-class tournaments with their fellow students each day, applying the lesson they’ve learned to the game they play. We will use zoom for instruction and chesskid.com for tournaments and in class competitions.

Here's a list of weekly topics - sign up for whichever class if of most interest!

Week 1: 6/5-6/9 M-F 10am-12pm
Tackling Tournaments: A camp entirely devoted to improving tournament performance with a series of practice drills, mock tournaments, and timed game studies to keep students pushing themselves to use the skills they are developing.

Week 2: 6/12-6/16 M-F 10am-12pm
Tactical Truths: The focus of this camp is to push our tactical strength to the next level with a variety of puzzles, activities, game studies and exercises designed to strengthen our understanding and capability with specific tactics each day. By the end of the week every student will have added new powerful tools to their tactical repertoire.

Week 3: 6/19-6/23 M-F 10am-12pm
Chess by Centuries: Looking through the greatest games of the 19th, 20th, and 21st century, our camp will study and dissect the way chess was and is played through the last 222 years. History is the greatest teacher, even if some of that history is in the making!

Advanced players have been playing chess for a number of years and/or have played in chess tournaments.
